I thought I’d begin the wedding recaps with the jewelry, since ultimately that’s why I created this blog.
I’ve always wanted to do a wedding where each bridesmaid had different jewelry, since every woman has different taste and individual style, but so far, no brides have jumped on that idea. But I knew I wanted to it for my ladies, and since they all wore different dress styles, it only made sense. Their dresses are from designer Coren Moore – all silver dupioni silk, but each was a different cut.
At first I wasn’t sure what to do for colors – we didn’t have an “official” color scheme, other than gray/silver, but I wanted all the accent colors to reflect early spring – yellows, blues, greens, maybe pinks…. yellow turned out to be a pretty common color throughout, but yellow jewelry? not for everyone. Then bridesmaid Jessica mentioned her obsession with light green when i noticed her wallet and kindle cover were that shade, and it clicked! And peridot, i already had a lot of that.
So since we’re talking about Jess, we’ll start with her jewelry, as it was the first design i came up with.
Jess’s dress was a strapless, straight across at the top, with a flared skirt. beautiful in it’s simplicity. I wanted her necklace to have a little more texture to it, so i combined peridot teardrops with green pearls, for a slightly chunky look.
Here’s the result:
had to show it a little off center, so that you didn’t get a sneak peak at mine yet. that’s a story for another day!
